With the help of a fruit press, you can quickly prepare a large amount of juice for the winter. In winemaking, a juice press is necessary for squeezing the fruit (berry) mass after preliminary fermentation (maceration).
The presses are also used to press heather honey, royal or drone jelly, wax, homemade cheeses, zeppelins, tinctures and almond milk.
In our online store you can buy manual, cross-beam, hydraulic, pneumatic fruit presses, as well as hydropresses (bladder presses).
Stainless steel fruit presses are more practical to use. The wooden basket absorbs the color and aroma of the juice. Oak also adds a small amount of tannins to the juice (similar to how Calvados gets its color and aroma in an oak barrel). Traditional fruit presses with a wooden basket look more authentic, however, an oak basket requires more care. The wooden basket and piston must be dried after use and stored in a dry place, otherwise mold may form. Also, when used frequently, wood absorbs moisture and expands.
