Plate filters (filter presses) are used for fine filtration of wine, beer, and clarified juices. Filtration is carried out through special filter plates with cardboard of varying density, which makes it possible to effectively remove suspended particles, yeast, and some microorganisms. Depending on the selected filter material, both pre-filtration and final filtration before bottling can be performed.
For finer purification and microbiological stabilization, cartridge filters are additionally used, ensuring the removal of the smallest particles and microorganisms.
Mechanical filters are intended for coarse and medium filtration of juice before further processing, for example, before pasteurization or fine filtration. They effectively retain large particles, pulp, and raw material residues, reducing the load on subsequent equipment. Double filtration systems are often used, allowing continuous operation and simplifying the cleaning process.
