Equipment for filling juices into Bag-in-Box® packages and stand-up pouches.
Juice manufacturers know that the actual capacity of a Bag-in-Box® package is slightly more than the nominal volume. For example, a 5-liter Bag-in-Box® package can hold approximately 5.3–5.5 liters of juice.
If pouring juice for personal consumption, accuracy is not important.
When pouring juice or wine for subsequent sale, it is important to ensure accuracy in filling. After all, every extra glass of juice in the package is lost profit for the manufacturer. Moreover, underfilling the juice in the package means that the customer does not receive the paid volume, even if the packaging visually appears full.
Types of fillers:
1) Holder for pouring juice into Bag-in-Box® and “Stand up Pouch” packages
This is the simplest device for filling packages. The package is inserted into the holder. Hot liquid is poured using a funnel or directly from the pasteurizer tap. The tap is pressed in using hands or a special tool similar to pliers.

6) Automatic installation for pouring juice into Bag-in-Box® and “Stand up Pouch” packages
The machine fills packages completely automatically at the push of a button.
You just need to insert the package into the filler and press the START button — the machine automatically removes the tap, vacuum seals the package, fills it with liquid, and seals the tap. The full process of filling a 3 l package takes about 7 seconds.

7) Automatic installation for pouring juice into connected Bag-in-Box® and “Stand up Pouch” packages
The machine provides a fully automatic filling process for connected Bag-in-Box® packages. After inserting the first package, the machine removes the tap, fills it with liquid, and closes the package. Then it releases the filled package and takes the next one for filling. Thus, the filling process is continuous, and the operator only needs to remove the filled package from the machine.

Choosing a filler for pouring juices into Bag-in-Box® and “Stand up Pouch” packages
The height of the holder for Stand up Pouch packages should be higher than that of the Bag-in-Box® holder (140 mm and 90 mm respectively).
Therefore, if you plan to pour juice into both types of packages, the filler should have an adjustable holder height.
For personal use, the simplest holder and funnel are sufficient. After filling, the tap can be pressed by hand. A special tool can also be used for sealing the tap, or you can choose a holder with a lever for sealing.
For a small juice filling line, you can use a setup with an electronic counter or electronic scales.
For a full juice production line, it is better to choose semi-automatic and automatic filling installations.
Environmental aspect of using packages
Bag-in-Box® packages and Stand up Pouch packages are very convenient packaging in terms of pouring, storage, and transportation; however, unfortunately, the plastic from Bag-in-Box® packages is not reused in most countries, as the package is usually made from many thin layers of various polymers and metals, making further recycling almost impossible.
Therefore, glass bottles are still preferable for storing juice and wine. Glass is chemically inert and does not affect the taste or aroma of the beverage. It reliably protects the contents from oxygen, light, and foreign odors, preserving quality even during long storage. Unlike plastic and multilayer packaging, glass does not release harmful substances and can be reused or fully recycled. This makes it not only a safe but also an environmentally sustainable choice.
